Website Terms of Use

Last updated 5 October 2026

These terms apply to everyone using needatrader.co.uk. Traders also agree to our Trader Terms, and advertisers to our Advertising Terms. By using the site you accept these terms.

1. What we do

needatrader.co.uk is a directory that helps you find and contact independent local tradespeople. We are not a party to any agreement between you and a trader, and we do not carry out, supervise or guarantee any work.

2. Your own checks

Badges such as “ID verified” or “Insured” reflect documents a trader supplied at a point in time. Always get written quotes, check insurance and qualifications relevant to the job (for example Gas Safe or NICEIC), and agree terms before work starts. Some listings are built from publicly available information and have not been claimed or checked by the business.

3. Accounts

You must be 18 or over and give accurate information. Keep your login secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

4. Acceptable use

  • No false, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory or unlawful content.
  • No fake reviews, spam, or scraping of the site or its data.
  • No attempts to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
  • No impersonating anyone or misusing other users’ contact details.

5. Content you post

You keep ownership of reviews, photos and messages you post, but give us a free, worldwide licence to display and use them to run and promote the service. Reviews must follow our Review Policy.

6. Our liability

The site is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for the work, quotes, conduct or pricing of any trader, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be limited. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

7. Intellectual property

The site design, logo, text and software belong to MJM Connect Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy them without permission.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the updated version.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
